Use and Care:

Attention:

Carefully open the package to avoid scratching the door components.

We recommend finishing components before assembling to prevent bowing and swelling. Ensure that all six sides of the components are completely finished.

NOTE: Please check the package to ensure that no components are missing. Contact us immediately if anything is missing.

Handling and Storage:

If doors are to be stored for an extended period, all six sides of the doors must be sealed with an oil-based sealer to prevent excessive moisture absorption.

Doors should be stored flat on a level surface in a dry, ventilated building. Do not store doors in direct sunlight.

Doors should be protected from rapid changes in heat or humidity.

Avoid leaning doors against the wall.

Doors should be handled with clean gloves to keep the door surface neat.

Do not step on any door components.

Do not drag or slide doors across each other to prevent damage.

Finishing:

Before finishing, lightly sand the entire surfaces of all door components using appropriate grit sandpaper. Ensure all marks, fingerprints, and scratches are removed.

After sanding, clean and remove all dust with a cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.

If the door is glazed with clear glass, it is the finisher's responsibility to protect the glass during finishing.

All door components should be sealed with a high-quality oil-based primer followed by two top coats of either an oil-based or latex resin-based paint.

Exterior sealers should contain UV additives to protect doors from direct sunlight.

After all components have dried, the door canbe assembled.

Follow the instructions provided by the finish manufacturer or dealer based on your location's circumstances.

Fitting and Hanging:

Prior to hanging the door, ensure that the doors are completely finished.

If the doors are cut in height, trim no more than 1-1/2'' from the bottom and 1/2'' from the top. Do not trim the width of the door. Immediately seal all cut surfaces with a high-quality sealer.

When hanging the door, allow adequate clearance for swelling of the door or frame in damp and high humidity weather. Adequate clearance ranges from 1/16'' to 1/8'' for swelling.

Use three hinges for doors up to 7' in height and four hinges for doors over 7'.

Jambs and stops should be set plumb.

Maintenance:

Regular maintenance is necessary to ensure the longevity of the wood door. Inspect the door at least every 12 months and refinish it if necessary, especially for exterior doors.

Transferability:

Waydoor grants this warranty only to the original purchaser of the door and the original purchaser of the building where the door was installed. THIS WARRANTY IS NOT TRANSFERABLE.
